Hello, Vanakam, Hajimemashite !
I am Shwetha Vaidyanathan, I am currently a first-year student of MA in Digital Humanities in Loyola University Chicago. My background is in English Literature, and I am in this course to learn digital skills to further my research interest in popular culture and delve into Human Computer Interaction. I am fascinated by the ways digital communities evolve, and their myriad complexities.
I am a voracious reader who loves reading fiction books especially in the fantasy and science fiction genre. I also read a lot of translated fiction especially novels translated from Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Japanese. I am always looking to find something new and interesting, and I love learning something new as much as I can. This blog is a medium for me to express myself, I look forward to sharing my thoughts in this corner of the internet

My work experience has been a blend of academia and industry. I have worked as a Social Media Editor, Visiting Faculty, Communications Associate, Admissions Counselor, and as a Learning Delivery and Training Coordinator. I have meandered along various career pathways, and now have a pretty good idea on my interests. My interest has been in creating and curating content for audiences, and mapping their responses. I have also studied Japanese for two years, and got the opportunity to visit Tokyo and Nagasaki as a cultural exhange student. I hope bring all my interests together with the added knowledge on digital tools, and work towards research.
In my spare time other than reading, I knit, and enjoy cooking recipes from different cultures. I volunteer extensively with organisations which work closely with the differently abled. I am currently in the midst of exploring Chicago and learning more about this incredible city!
